Commercial Board Up

4/13/2022 (Permalink)

When it comes to your property, we understand that keeping it secure is a top priority. SERVPRO of Jackson & Ross, Athens & Gallia Counties offers board up for locations both big and small to keep your property safe. Whether you are facing damages from a fire, storm, or vandalism the professionals at SERVPRO are always here to help! If windows and doors are left unboarded after damages, opportunities are created for unwanted visitors on the property which cloud lead to more damage, theft, or someone getting injured.

We board up properties in a way that does not damage the casings of the windows and doors in situations where they will be reused/repaired. Instead of attaching plywood directly to the frames of doors and windows, we attach braces behind the plywood that stretches across the casings to securely clamp the two pieces together. This allows for the property to be tightly secured without causing unnecessary damage to the structure.

If you are facing damages to your property, don’t hesitate to call SERVPRO, we are always happy to help! Call us today at (740) 286-2550.

  • Routinely clean: commonly touched objects and surfaces can be one of the more common ways to transfer germs and disease. Make sure these surfaces are disinfected routinely throughout the day.
  • Keep a supply: Keep a good collection of items such as tissues, wipes, and hand sanitizer to make sure you have enough to last the season.
  • Practice good hygiene: it is common to think it is common knowledge, but it is still important to remember the fundamentals. Make sure to wash hands often, cover your cough, and keep your distance if you are not feeling well.
  • Plan: someone getting sick can sometimes be inevitable. Make sure you or your work has a plan in place as far as absence and preventative measures.
  • Stay home: if you do become sick, the best thing you can do is to stay home. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others.

With COVID-19 still present, it is crucial to make sure that if someone in your school or workplace does become COVID-19 positive to professionally clean and sanitize the area. Emergency Ready Profile

7/8/2021 (Permalink)

SERVPRO employee speaking to a business owner The best way to minimize the interruption to your business is to create a SERVPRO Emergency Ready Profile (ERP)

The sad truth is that if a disaster struck right now, as many as 50% of the businesses around you may never recover. Planning ahead and having a course of action ready may be the deciding factor that keeps your business afloat. Pre-planning and having key information documented allows professionals (like SERVPRO) to get to the recovery process immediately and without miscommunication. Having access to information such as shut-off valve locations, priority areas, and contact information gives everyone a quick reference of what to do, how to do it, and who to call.

The best way to minimize the interruption to your business is to create a SERVPRO Emergency Ready Profile (ERP). This is a document that contains all of the necessary information at the time of a disaster (such as the information listed previously). This document also includes a no-cost inspection/assessment of your business, so there is no need to budget. This process takes little time to complete and can give you the peace of mind that if anything ever does happen, we can get right to work.

SERVPRO of Jackson & Ross, Athens & Gallia Counties are here to assist you with scheduling an appointment and would be more than willing to answer any of your ERP questions! For more information call (740) 286-2550!

Spring Allergies?

6/30/2021 (Permalink)

Woman sneezing into tissue Allergies can be troublesome, don’t let your HVAC system make them any worse.

With Spring in full effect, we often think of flowers blooming, the April showers, or planting a garden. We forget that over 50 million Americans suffer from allergies and dread the tidal wave of symptoms that roll in with the season. In an attempt to avoid muddling around outside, some decide to stay indoors. Little do they know that what hides inside their home could be causing them the same flare-ups. Dust, pollen, hair, and even mold can be hidden inside your vents and kicked up into the air you breathe when your HVAC system has been neglected and left uncleaned. Cleaning your HVAC system and replacing your filters with HEPA-rated replacements can not only improve the home’s air quality but also extend the life of your HVAC system by reducing the strain put on the equipment.

We’d love to give your HVAC system a good spring cleaning! SERVPRO of Jackson & Ross, Athens & Gallia Counties is here to help with all your cleaning needs, extracting all of the troublesome debris, and helping to get your home and your allergies under control. Call us today at (740) 286-2550 to schedule an appointment with one of our skilled team members!
